Maceió, capital city of the State of Alagoas, is a place
where Maother Nature didn’t save any effort.
We are talking about 30 miles of breathtaking tropical beaches,
natural swimming pools, na ocean of warm and quiet waters, with
unique colours.
The first things that a new visitor notices in Maceió are
its beaches, the different colours of its waters – sometimes
green, sometimes blue – and the sun, an inseparable companion
all year round (more than 300 sunny days a year).

Praia do Ponta Verde : a beach with quiet and clear waters, lots
of coconut trees and natural swimming pools created by natural barriers.
It’s a meeting point for youngsters.

Praia da Pajuçara : its main attraction is the boat trip
(jangada) to its natural swimming pools, 1,5 miles off the coast,
that are created by the low tide and behind natural barriers and
sand banks. During week ends there are also floating bars serving
food and drinks.

Praia dos Sete Coqueiros : located on the north point of the Pajuçara
bay, is also a boarding point for trips to the natural swimming
pools.

Praia de Jatiúca : it attracts many sea lovers looking for
its quiet waters. It is also indicated for fishermen.

Praia da Sereia : beautiful beach with lots of coconut trees and
natural swimming pools. It is also known as Mirante da Sereia because
of the statue of a Murmaid standing in front of its shore.

Dunas de Marapé : tourist attraction near maceió,
with amazing beaches, dunes, coconut trees and manglars.

Praia do Francês : one of the nicest beaches of the south
shore. Its bay hás been created by a very long natural barrier,
creating a wonderful natural swimming pool, with a lot of sea life,
and its clear green and tourquoise waters.

Praia do Gunga : white sand beach, full of coconut trees, that slips
into the the water like a tongue separating the Ocean from the waters
of the river São Miguel.

Maragogi : small town near Maceió, whith nice beaches full
of coconut trees and amazing natural pools.

Estuary of the River São Francisco : at the meeting point
between the Velho Chico and the Ocean, there is one of the most
incredible postcard views of Alagoas.

Lagoa de Mundaú : it is created by a large formation of manglar
trees and it is spotted by 9 islands. A great variety of fish and
other sealife are part of this incredible natural sceanary. Many
tourist take a trip around the Laguna, that goes till Barra Nova
where its waters meet those of the Ocean..

Historical Bairro de Jaraguá : one of the most ancient neighbourhoods
of Maceió, Jaraguá featured buildings from the colonial
period, now hosting bars, restaurants and museums. In this area
there is also the Port of Maceió.
